DR ROSE – CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST
BSc(Hons) DClinPsy PGCert CPsychol
I am a Clinical Psychologist chartered with the British Psychological Society and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. I hold a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) and prior to this I completed my Undergraduate Degree in Psychology (BSc) and achieved First Class Honours. I have also completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Systemic Practice (Families and couples therapy) and I am a Certified Schema Therapist, accredited by the International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST). Furthermore, I have undertaken Practitioner level training in Mentalization Based Treatment.
I have worked in the NHS for over 13 years and in private practice for the last six years. In the NHS I have predominantly worked with individuals who have had severe and enduring mental health problems resulting high levels of risk of harm to themselves and/or others. On many occasions I have been able support individuals to make positive personal changes despite them often being regarded as ‘untreatable’ or ‘resistant to change’ by others.
I believe that these treatment successes reflect my belief that personal change is always possible and also demonstrate my ability to adapt my approach to each individual, whilst only using therapies that are proven to be effective. I bring these skills to my private practice in which I provide a range of psychological therapies to individuals and couples for many emotional problems including depression, anxiety, stress, obsessive compulsive disorder, anger, deliberate self-harm, family and relationship difficulties, eating disorders, bereavement, psychosis and personality disorders.
In addition to my therapeutic work I am also able to provide specialist assessment of personality, risk of violence, sexual violence and stalking. I also have significant experience of providing clinical supervision and consultation to staff teams.
